Boots On

A romantic walk around Fortingall or four Munros in a day. Whatever your idea of a good walk, this part of Highland Perthshire has an abundance of walks for everyone. So pack your bags and get ready for the great outdoors.

In terms of Munros, we are ideally located for an easy journey to Schiehallion, the Carn Mairg circuit in Glen Lyon, Ben Lawers range, Meall nan Tarmachan, and the Glen Lochay and Loch Lyon hills.

Then there are the local Corbetts such as Meall Tairneachan, Farragon, Beinn nan Oighreag, Meall nam Maigheach and Ben Vrackie, plus several others that are easily reached from your base at Fortingall.

We are also close to one of “Scotland’s Great Trails”, the Rob Roy Way, which runs through Aberfeldy on its route from Drymen to Pitlochry.

Keen walkers heading for these higher and longer routes are likely to have their own guidebooks and maps, but for those in search of a shorter and lower-level walk we can recommend a selection of walks that guests might find to their liking. Here are a few ideas to whet your appetite.

Short Walks

Fortingall circuit

Hill fort and Dun Geal

Long Walks
